The distance from the airport is about 80 km. The wide and some several miles long sandy beach is less than 100 m from the Villa. Bentota, ca. 60 km von Colombo entfernt, mit ca. 50.000 Einwohnern, stellt eines der beliebtesten Ziele der Insel dar. Nach Norden bildet es mit dem Ort Beruwala eine durch Ferienzentren fast zusammengewachsene Küstenlinie. Der Ort bezaubert durch seine Lage zwischen Ozean und Lagune. Zwischen beiden Orten liegt Robolgoda-Bentota (Bahnstation), von wo aus die Abzweigung zu einem im Landesinneren liegenden Botanischen Garten liegt. Bentota hat viele Hotels der gehobenen Kategorie und ist touristisch sehr erschlossen. Der Bentota-Fluß (Bentota Ganga), der die natürliche Grenze zwischen West- und Südwestprovinzen bildet, ist für kleine Boote mehr als 70 km weit schiffbar. The north of Bentota is connected to Beruwala and thus provides with its holiday centres a nearly connected coastline. The village charms through its location between ocean and laguna. Situated between both villages there is Robolgoda-Bentota with the railway station, which is the junction to change to visit The Botanical Gardens in the middle of the island. Bentota has many 5* hotels and is highly adjusted with the tourist in mind. The river Bentota (Bentota Ganga), that builds the natural border between west and south provinces, is accessible with small boats in a length of more than 70 km.
